Participating in Historic Downtown Liberty’s (HDLI) events is a great way to attract new customers to your business.

Yearly, we host ticketed and non-ticket events. The cost of participation varies with each event. Invitations to participate are emailed and shared on the HDLI Promotions Team & Downtown Business Owners Facebook group page.

Hosting pop-up vendors during the events? Share the sales tax rate with them—(CID District 10.85%). The Department of Revenue requires all vendors to have their own Missouri Tax Identification number if they make retail sales.

HDLI has adopted a standard boundary for all downtown ticketed events to help keep participation safe, consistent, and fair for both businesses and attendees.

The official ticketed event boundary is Mississippi St → Leonard St → Mill St → Missouri St → Gallatin St → Mill St → Prairie St → back to Mississippi St.

If your business is inside the boundary, you may participate by activating inside your storefront or on your sidewalk frontage. If your business is outside the boundary (within 1-2 blocks), you are still welcome to join the event. HDLI will help coordinate host locations as needed, and you may participate by using sidewalk or parking spaces or by partnering with a business inside the boundary to host your activation. All businesses are required to register for events.

To help guests easily find participating businesses during downtown events, HDLI provides official “Stop Here!” signs. These create a consistent and welcoming look across the district while highlighting your business as an event stop.

• Each participating business receives one sign—funded by the Historic Downtown Liberty Commercial Community Improvement District (CID).
• Keep and reuse your sign for each downtown event.
• Place the sign outside your storefront in a visible spot near your entrance. Use weights (sandbags, water jugs, or weighted bases) to prevent tipping. Signs must not block walkways, doors, or ADA access.
• Bring your sign inside and store it in a dry, flat place away from direct sunlight or moisture.
• Wipe clean with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh cleaners or bending the sign.
• Signs are the property of Historic Downtown Liberty, Inc. If your business relocates or no longer participates in events, please return the sign to the HDLI office (11 N. Gallatin Street).

Fun Money reimbursement.

It’s the size of a business card, making it easy for shoppers to carry around. The program remains the same – take $5 off a purchase of $10 or more.

To be reimbursed: on the back side of the card, write your business name and the date redeemed, and then submit it to the HDLI office. To ensure that your Fun Money doesn’t get lost, please enclose them in an envelope. If we are not there, leave them in the secured mailbox in front of our office.
